Advantages of Digital Photography

Until relatively recently, we were all taking our photographs using celluloid film and then paying a company to develop that film for us.  After an impatient wait of 7 days or so, we would get back our 24 or 36 photographs and, Oh, the disappointment!  Those treasured moments we were anxious to re-live and share with family and friends, were not as we remembered them.  Out of focus, too dark, too light, red eyes, chopped off heads - if we were lucky, there might be 5 photographs worth keeping.  A huge waste of money!  The age of digital photography has changed all of that.

Some of the benefits of using a digital camera are:-

1. Convenience – Modern cameras are small enough to be carried with you anywhere and yet still capably of producing excellent photographs, particularly if you choose one with a large megapixel count.

2. Immediate photographs – You can take as many photographs as you need in order to capture that perfect image.  By using the review feature, you can look at your photos on the view screen and choose the best ones, deleting those you do not want to keep.  This immediate feedback gives you great control over your photography.

3. Edit and Modify – As your photographs are recorded digitally, they are stored in digital files and therefore can be downloaded to your computer and edited using appropriate photo editing software. Amazing results can be achieved, only limited by the quality of your software and your imagination and creativity.

4. Easy to share with family and friends – Send your photos by email anywhere in the world. Or, print your photos at home, frame them and give them away as gifts.  It is so easy to stay in touch and to share those precious moments.

The advance in camera technology has made it possible for all of us to enjoy the advantages of digital photography and to produce high quality photographs.  Immediate results, ease of use and convenience are just some of the benefits that we gain by using a digital camera.
